I never really got into the detective mystery genre, so my rating is just how I felt while reading it. I think that it started a little slow, and knowing that any small detail could be important draws a lot of focus for the slow moving components (before the murder has taken place). But once the mystery begins, I was really enthralled. More than mysterious, I felt the story had a quirkiness to it that made it light and fun.
Classic of its genre and a perfectly pleasant read, though not life-changing.
crazy good
This is my second Agatha Christie book and I love that her novels are always straight-forward, easy to read, and--even through her novels always contain a large cast of characters--they are easy to decipher between. This one kept me guessing until the end!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 4 stars
I've been saying I need to read Agatha Christie for years and I finally did it. I chose this book to fulfill a reading challenge prompt and went with the audiobook since I could listen at work.
I thought it was pretty good, loved the main twist, and the audio was good but I think it would have been great with a full cast.
This murder mystery takes place solely on a train and makes for such a fun and atmospheric read.
Now I'm off to watch the movie!
