Lovelight Farms

One of Amazon's Best Romances of June!

Two best friends fake date to reach their holiday happily ever after in this first romantic comedy in the Lovelight series.

A pasture of dead trees. A hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons. And shipments that have mysteriously gone missing. Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams.

In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, Stella enters a contest with Instagram-famous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, Stella might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on her application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only…there is no boyfriend.

Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just stopped by for some hot chocolate and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process. But fake dating his best friend might be the best Christmas present he’s ever received.

Lovelights Farms by B.K. Borison
- I love winter books, so I'll try reading this one. Also, the cover of the book is intriguing, so I gave it a try. I gave this book 3 stars because, although this book is kind of okay. The chapters are long, and it's a kind of slow-paced book. I just didn't like the entire flow of the book, but this one is good though :)

This is the sweetest coziest hazel-nuttiest read. Delightful. Tender. Did I mention cozy?

First book in 6 years of no reading. Rekindled my love for books. And hits home differently from life experience.

Read this a few months ago. The Lovelight Farms series will always deliver a cute cozy small town romance no questions asked. As I have bounced around and read the series out of order, I feel that they all have their own strengths. The first book does very well in laying a ground work for the romantic relationship to build on. While some people might say duh because this is a friends-to-lovers novel so their connection was a given, some authors still manage to fudge up and rush along the romance. Stella and Luka's romance felt very organic and I could see how they came to terms with their feelings for each other and got over their fears of messing up their friendship.

Having said that, all books in this series suffer two major downsides. One is that they feel overly long. I have said this before and I will say it again - no book with the main plot revolving around romance really needs to be over 300+ pages. That plus the actions in the series revolving around small town life can make the books seem boring and drawn out sometimes. The other downside they all suffer from is that I never really understand why the two main love interests can't just... be together? Maybe it's just me, but the stakes are never high enough for me to not understand why the mcs aren't together already, especially because the whole town always seems to ship them together anyways.

Regardless, this was another cute romance read. I appreciate how cozy it is - no frustrating mcs, no major miscommunications, just B.K. Borison building her dream town and playing Sims.
