Lovelight Farms

One of Amazon's Best Romances of June!

Two best friends fake date to reach their holiday happily ever after in this first romantic comedy in the Lovelight series.

A pasture of dead trees. A hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons. And shipments that have mysteriously gone missing. Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams.

In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, Stella enters a contest with Instagram-famous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, Stella might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem. To make the farm seem like a romantic destination for the holidays, she lied on her application and said she owns Lovelight Farms with her boyfriend. Only…there is no boyfriend.

Enter best friend Luka Peters. He just stopped by for some hot chocolate and somehow got a farm and a serious girlfriend in the process. But fake dating his best friend might be the best Christmas present he’s ever received.

This was such a cute & romantic holiday read! I haven't read a ton of friends to lovers because I just don't think I get as attached, but I really liked this one! It is obvious from the beginning that Stella and Luka have feelings for each other and both are denying it. I like the fake dating component as well cause you know it’ll expose those feelings. Luka is unbelievably cute. having it all based around the holidays was like a hallmark movie! ! I enjoyed that it’s a tree farm Stella is turning into a Christmas wonderland. I could picture it because my family used to go to cut down our own tree every year and I always loved the aspects of those farms that got me all geared up for Christmas. Their story was a predictable one that somehow still makes me itching to know what happens next. Such a good feel good story that I utterly enjoyed!

🎄✨ Lovelight Farms Book Review ✨🎄 Synopsis: Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison is a cozy, small-town romance about Stella Bloom, who buys a Christmas tree farm she fell in love with as a child while visiting with her mother. After her mother’s passing, the farm becomes a meaningful link to her past—but keeping it afloat isn’t easy. When a social media contest unexpectedly brings attention to the farm and creates the impression that Stella is running it with her boyfriend, she asks her best friend, Luka Peters, to play along. As the fake relationship deepens, long-buried feelings surface, blurring the line between friendship and something more. Set against a festive holiday backdrop, the story explores grief, found family, and the courage to embrace love. ⸻ My Review: After falling in love with B.K. Borison’s Good Spirits, I was excited to pick up Lovelight Farms. While it didn’t resonate with me quite as strongly, it was still a sweet, cozy story, and I’m glad I gave it a chance. I listened to the audiobook, and while the narration wasn’t my favorite, it may have slightly affected my overall experience. I had some trouble fully connecting with the characters. Nothing felt particularly wrong, but I didn’t form the deeper emotional bond I usually hope for. That said, I did genuinely appreciate how Luka consistently showed up for Stella and “held her steady” throughout the years they knew each other, which was a quietly touching element of their relationship. Based on the description, I was expecting more of a warm, Hallmark-style romance, and while the setting offered cozy elements, the story itself didn’t fully deliver that feeling for me. The first half felt slow and was harder to settle into, and while the second half picked up with a few genuinely cute and sweet moments, the story overall still felt a bit lacking. The strong focus on physical longing and the open-door spice also weren’t quite to my personal taste, as I tend to prefer holiday romances that lean softer and more emotionally driven. That said, I know this book is well-loved by many readers, and I can easily see why. For now, I’m settling on a 3-star rating, though that may change as I continue reading more from the series. If you’re looking for a festive, small-town romance with chemistry and holiday charm, this one may still be a great fit. Content note: Includes open-door romantic scenes and a stronger focus on physical attraction, which may not suit readers seeking a closed-door, Hallmark-style holiday romance.

The cozy feeling under a blanket next to a fire written down in a book.

4 - Not perfect, but I did like the cozy romance vibe. And I was frustrated at times because of lack of communication between the MMC and FMC, but that is pretty standard plot problems with romances.
