First-Time Caller (Paperback or Softback)

INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
A hopeless romantic meets a jaded radio host in this cozy, Sleepless in Seattle–inspired love story from beloved author B.K. Borison.
Aiden Valentine has a secret: he’s fallen out of love with love. And as the host of Baltimore’s romance hotline, that’s a bit of a problem. But when a young girl calls in to the station asking for dating advice for her mom, the interview goes viral, thrusting Aiden and Heartstrings into the limelight.
Lucie Stone thought she was doing just fine. She has a good job; an incredible family; and a smart, slightly devious kid. But when all of Baltimore is suddenly scrutinizing her love life—or lack thereof—she begins to question if she’s as happy as she believed. Maybe a little more romance wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
Everyone wants Lucie to find her happy ending…even the handsome, temperamental man calling the shots. But when sparks start to fly behind the scenes, Lucie must make the final decision between the radio-sponsored happily ever after or the man in the headphones next to her.

Readers say *First-Time Caller* by B.K. Borison offers a charming, slow-burn romance with relatable, mature characters—a mechanic and a radio host—and...
This may be a good rom-com for some, but it did not work for me. The characters were not relatable or very likeable and the dialogue was very awkward. Mainly, I was disappointed that the FMC settled for "some fun" with someone rather than looking for the "magic" that she was dreaming about. By the end, I didn't find myself really aring abotu the story or the characters anymore.
Ah… what can I say…. First Time Caller was such an amazing read! ❤️ The story centers around Lucie and Aiden. Lucie’s daughter places a call to a local radio station on a quest to help her mom find love. Lucie ends up on the show and all of Baltimore listens and chimes in. Through it all, the chemistry and attraction between Lucie and Aiden grows. Eventually, they give into their love connection.
I am not a fan of the miscommunication trope… BUT I think it worked in First Time Caller. If you enjoy swoony love stories that feel like real life romance, this book is for you.

I liked the book, but I definitely preferred the beginning stages when Aiden and Lucie were still getting to know each other and flirting. After they started getting physical and up until the ending, I was more or less icked out by their dialogue lmao. I'm sorry! But the dirty talk wasn't doing it for me. At all. But the scenes themselves were good. Overall I thought this was a fun little read with good build up and a fun premise/setting with the radio station. It just kinda loses me a little after they actually started getting more involved. I guess I'm just more of a fan of the chase/yearning.
