Here's the thing, I have been on a run of smut related books the past month and half. Do I regret it? NO! The anticipating, the waiting, the wanting... it was worth it.

This book is a standalone and I think that was a smart choice. What I did like about it is that it was not like the story line took place over a month or two, it spans over a year or so allowing for the tension to build and make each person wait.

I felt for Braxton in the sense of her upbringing and conflicted thoughts. I loved the storyline of each character. I wish I was in Braxton's shoes, especially in a certain scene. Braxton is a little minx herself. The writing was well done and even though I was happy in the end, my heart was torn a couple times, and it got very very very steamy and exciting. I think this is a perfect standalone for those that are in a slump from a series. Highly recommend this book! I definitely will be reading more by this author.

You don’t know you’re screwed until you’re already in too deep

I lived for the smut, god damn. Honestly, that was the only reason why I kept reading. It was every bit dirty yet I wanted more.

Braxton showed the three boys their place when she didn't easily accept all the hate she was receiving for nothing. So in my books, that's good. She held them by the throat with her words and she definitely didn't go easy on them. Though, she thought of herself as this version that I think she isn't. It wasn't talked about enough in the book to come to that conclusion.

Houston was the least attractive to me. He thought he was all bully and meanie when his words were nowhere near scary. And he stuck to his "i'm a big bad bully" role almost 1/2 of the book, it was so boring. Your words do nothing other than making me yawn, dude. I feel like his past came by in a flash I had to re-read it twice. The book has 68 chapters and an epilogue and it came out in the last few pages????

Loren... felt like the horniest out of them. Most of the time. He didn't interest me either, I felt like he was too obsessed with getting into Braxton's pants at the start it was honestly looking lame. Though I felt like his character growth was worth seeing at least 25 chapters later. Or around there, I couldn't keep track. Him and Rich.. the idea of it was hinted throughout the book but I wasn't ready for the actual scene.

Jericho, now he's the one I had my eyes on. From the way he was at the start to the end, I just want to put him into my pocket. And shield him, for no reason. Okay, maybe it's because he's so sweet. I really like the image he portrayed of being a shy man in the streets and a dominating beast in the streets. Point taken, Rich. I thought that he's the one that loves Braxton throughout the book, genuinely. The other two had a competition between one another and they're losers because of that.
He talked the least shit, so it made sense that he had the biggest dick. Now you know why I am so into him.

The angst in this book was a little too long, length wise of the book it didn't need to take up 1/4 of the book. This book did not need 68 chapters, let's be honest. But the good thing is: the intensity of it is just right. The bond between them that was falling apart seemed to patch itself back together with the existence of Braxton. She did fit in right.

Also, I didn't understand Braxton's fucking obsession with cherries. Every time, every time I saw cherries I went like, aGAIN????? But there's a reason why, a legit reason why so I accepted it.

To end this off, if Rich exists somewhere in this world please point him my way because I'd like to do this with him:

The way he stroked my tongue with his reminded me of lazy Sunday mornings spent in bed with the sheets twisted around our tangled legs

(I read this book in honour of black history month)
