Just Haven't Met You Yet
From the New York Times bestselling author of This Time Next Year comes a heartwarming and hilarious tale that asks: What if you picked up the wrong suitcase and fell head over heels for its mystery owner?
Hopeless romantic and lifestyle reporter Laura's business trip to the Channel Islands isn't off to a great start. After an embarrassing encounter with the most attractive man she's ever seen in real life, she arrives at her hotel and realizes she's grabbed the wrong suitcase from the airport. Her only consolation is its irresistible contents, each of which intrigues her more and more. The owner of this suitcase is clearly Laura's dream man. Now, all she has to do is find him. Besides, what are the odds that she'd find The One on the same island where her parents first met and fell in love, especially as she sets out to write an article about their romance? Commissioning surly cab driver Ted to ferry her around seems like her best bet in both tracking down the mystery suitcase owner and retracing her parents' footsteps. But as Laura's mystery man proves difficult to find--and as she uncovers family secrets--she may have to reimagine the life, and love, she always thought she wanted.

I like the version of myself I am when I'm with you
Somehow the quote above sounds grammatically wrong but I've triple checked, that was how it was written in the book.
I wanted to give this book a higher rating but it fell flat nearer to the end.
Laura's job as a journalist especially for love was interesting and she was definitely there because of her parents' love story. But when she finds out its all fake, she started questioning herself if she should be chasing for love rather than finding it. And when there's a love triangle involved, it becomes even more difficult for her to choose the right one.
One thing I didn't like was that this book was described to be a rom-com but I can't find the latter in the book. Laura saying "FUCK! Fuckity fuck, fuck pants" does not count as comedy. Also, the connection between Ted and Laura was not intense enough to call it love, at least for me. At first she described him to be a 40s looking dude with a ring on the finger so the first impression of Ted was already as someone unavailable. I find this a little misleading to the reader because it frames the mind for at least half of the book. But then after he removes his beard, it seems fine for Laura to hit on him although she did have moments where she asked herself if she did fancy Ted. Laura also gave this impression that she hopes for a fairy tale to happen in her life just because others' did but it was becoming a little repetitive to the extent of her bestfriend having to wake her up. Also, 0 smut and the only description you get is Laura sitting on Ted's lap.
But I have to say, the most uninteresting character of this book was indeed Jasper, the one who lost the luggage. I don't even know why did he appear because all of his scenes were boring and I just skimmed through it. Even Laura's boss Suki had better scenes than Jasper though all she did was to be a bitch.
What I did like about the book was the characters who were around the MCs - they were good enough to be the focus. This book focuses on anything else other than the romance so I think that was justifiable. It's a like cute little town where everyone knows one another and no gossip escapes.
In all, had potential from the start but could have been better.
