Jar of Hearts

This was my first Jennifer Hillier book and while it was a well written thriller, it will probably be my last of hers as the graphic violence/sexual assaults were over the top for me. I found myself skimming those parts and unlike other reviewers I didn’t think they were necessary. The plot was well paced and the twists were believable.

My new fave author. The twists kept coming, not expecting any of it!

I honestly fully enjoyed Jar of Hearts from start to finish. The characters were well thought out and the author went back and forth between the past and present seamlessly throughout. The only reason reason I am giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because there were a few side stories that were added in that I felt weren't truly needed throughout the book and took away from the whole story a bit.

One of the best thrillers I’ve ever read. My first Jennifer Hillier and it won’t be my last. 10/10

This is a bookclub pick so I struggled with rating. I would not have chosen it, it was well written, the story was just too dark for me.
