I'd maybe give this book a 3.5/5 star rating, but that's me being optimistic. Don't get me wrong, it's a good book. It just didn't satisfy what I look for in a substantial mystery, I want to be able to put down the book and have been absolutely blown away. Honestly, I never feel 100% content writing a review of mystery novels unless I am absolutely shocked and impressed that I hadn't guessed the ending... which 9/10 times, I do.
I would recommend this book like I said, it was an enjoyable novel. I would just be more likely to recommend it to someone starting off in the genre or someone who isn't as particularly picky about guessing endings and just wants a fun read.
P.S. I did (like everyone else it seems) love the POV and how a serial killer's son could use the "skills" he was taught and use them for good and while simultaneously blending the topic of "nature vs nurture."

I started reading this because of a recommendation that claimed the comparison between The Naturals Series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Honestly, this book was disturbing in the best way. This is way more intense than anything mentioned in that compared series.
I'm rating it three stars because I enjoyed how the story started and where it was going, I experienced a lot of tension during my experience and I'm glad that happened. The ending was a bit rushed and underwhelming, but I intend to continue this series.
