Dogs are more complex than humans “believe”
Although a little dry at times when the author details his planning for the experiment, his findings show that dogs are a lot more emotionally intelligent than society says. They interpret our actions and can even determine intent. They are likely far more similar to us than widely accepted. All of my dogs have been and are children to me, they are respected, loved and handled as if they were people. I also know bonds I’ve had with my animals are often far deeper and true than anything else in my life. I am not surprised by what the author uncovers, but I hope the research expands and continues so dogs get the treatment and rights they deserve.
