I can not tell you how long it has been since a book has had such a hold on me. Obviously if you are a lover of angst then this is the book for you. The angst and longing that radiated from this story had me in a chokehold and when I wasn't listening to the audiobook I was thinking about it. Hell, I finished the book and I'm still waiting for more. The way each character was so unique yet fit perfectly together in the group - I could just talk about this book forever. Definitely my favorite read of 2023 so far.
This is my second Emily Henryread and I throughly enjoyed it! I was able to relate a lot to the main characters and walked away wkth yet more tears and a heart filled with warmth. There’s some reasons why this isn’t a five star for me but I still really recommend - the ending makes my frustrations worth it.
I like this one better than People We Meet on Vacation, but I don’t feel like Harriet has as much of a personality as Daphne from Funny Story (although, personally the humor is a bit less cringy than in FS). There was more depth to Wyn imo, but overall I think maybe the miscommunication and second chance trope isn’t for me. I really enjoy Emily’s writing though, def can’t deny that she has a way of writing that makes you feel the emotions of her characters!
Another really cute EmHen read! Quick and easy, I flew through this one. Def recommend if you love second-chance romance <3
