Greenlights

Greenlights: Your Journal, Your Journey is a guided companion to the #1 New York Times bestselling memoir Greenlights, filled with prompts, pithy quotes, adages, outlaw wisdom, and advice on how to live with greater satisfaction. Matthew has been writing in journals since he was fifteen years old. His adventures have taken him from Texas to Australia, from Mali to Peru—and he has chronicled them all. In this authentic, unconventional journal, the prompts encourage going inside: remembering, reflecting, and musing, and also going outside: adventuring, taking risks, and dreaming big. Who could be a better guide for seekers setting out on the road to understanding their lives inside and out, past, present, and future?

This memoir came highly recommend by my husband and since I already liked Matthew McConaughey so I felt pretty confident I would like hearing his story. I was right. His experiences and advice were captivating and hearing it all in his smooth, baritone, handsome voice just made it so much better.

Interesting character, crazy life. He's a very spiritual soul and appreciates the good fortune he's had.

I loved this touching, funny set of stories about the author's life. Some stories were funnier than others, and some had me feeling strong emotions. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who needed something light and quick to read. It was well-written and kept me engaged for the whole book.

Spoiler alert: This book is a memoir and it’s different from most. The book goes from his high school years to current days . It has a lot of journal entries of his random thoughts over the years of simple wisdom and a lot of notes to self/simple truth and written Informal language. It helps the readers into his head when he was in this different stage of his life and I know it has a lot of good ratings and I had high hopes but I don’t feel like I got a lot out of it. Maybe it’s mainly because of his language, nothing sexural, his use of drugs or the outlaw rules.
