I enjoyed this dark yet fun story about a boy who grew up in a graveyard. It was sweet, entertaining, and altogether wonderful.

Bod is a miracle. He escapes a murderer when only a baby. And then he is raised by the spirits in a graveyard. Quite a fantastic tale, and yet quite charming. Be sure to read the newbery acceptance speech if your edition includes it.

Such a fun book. The full cast audio performance was also brilliant. Neil Gailman writes the macabre like no one else. Read it in the fall/Halloween season if you're looking for a spooky tale.
