Got me thinking about how I eat.
Wish that the author had touched upon more of the why people aren’t able to do the things she claims will make for “good energy” (there’s a lot of privilege here to even have access to this information and there is only one paragraph in the book about the actual costs of food where it’s basically just “buy beans and lentils and work out farmers market deals?” - this isn’t accessible for most people). I also wish that the focus on tracking biometric data wasn’t so forceful. I understand the point she’s trying to make that you can’t fix what you don’t know but it felt like kind of a shill to plug her own business for CGM. Overall, I think it’s still a decent read (especially the first half) to understand the ways the medical system in the US is broken for profitability over patient outcomes in spite of knowing health is tied very closely to lifestyle and diet.
The more I think about this book the more questionable I think it is - so downgrading to 2 stars.
