If you love slow-burn tension with a touch of danger, God of Pain delivers a delicious mix of push-and-pull, emotional torment, and undeniable chemistry. This book takes the classic bad-boy-meets-good-girl trope and twists it into something darker, more intense, and utterly addictive.
Creighton King is the definition of cold and calculated, a man who thrives on control and power. He’s not the type to show emotions, but when Annika gets under his skin, the cracks start to show in the most tantalizing way. Annika, strong-willed and rebellious, refuses to be just another pawn in his world. Their connection is electric—filled with sharp words, heated glances, and a constant battle for dominance.
Rina Kent masterfully builds the tension, making every interaction feel like a ticking time bomb. The slow-burn romance is worth the wait, with moments that make your heart race and your stomach drop. It’s dark, angsty, and full of morally gray decisions that will have you questioning your own sanity for rooting for them.

I know we didn't get a lot of hints about Creighton's character in the previous books, but I did not expect what we were given.
What I loved most about this book was the character development, which is more than I can say about some of the other books in this series. Overall I enjoyed reading Creigh & Anni's story.

I don’t want to call Creighton and Annika “boring” because the men are so alpha they cannot be boring but I found myself losing interest after we found out the secret. After that I was basically like they’re going to end up together let’s get to the end already.
