Forget You Saw Her: A standalone prequel to Ask for Andrea

A missing girl. A frantic mother. A desperate search.

Across the country, notes taped to restroom stalls read, "On a date that isn't going well? Ask for Andrea at the bar. We'll make sure you get home safe."

But Andrea-the girl behind the campaign-didn't make it home safe.

She disappeared without a trace at seventeen. The police labeled her a runaway, and the case went cold. That is, until her mother, Sabina, starts digging for answers.

But the closer she gets to the truth, the clearer it becomes that not everyone wants Andrea to be found. A predator is hiding in plain sight, keeping close tabs on the search. And he'll do whatever it takes to make sure his secrets stay buried.

Forget You Saw Her is the chilling standalone prequel to the international bestseller Ask for Andrea.

Seventeen years after giving her newborn up for adoption, Sabina receives a letter: her daughter, Andrea Beaumont, is missing. Desperate for answers, she launches a frantic search and soon fears Andrea isn’t coming home. As Sabina follows disturbing clues, she swears she can feel Andrea reaching to her in dreams, guiding her toward the truth. But someone is watching her investigation, determined to keep the secrets buried in this standalone prequel to Ask for Andrea, inspired by true events. First things first: I received an advanced copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily. I devoured Ask For Andrea last year and it was my first Noelle Ihli book. I was completely hooked by her chillingly original take on ghosts and grief. So when I saw Forget You Saw Her, I hit request on NetGalley without even realizing it was a prequel. Once I figured out this was Andrea Beaumont’s backstory, I was even more eager to dive in and it didn’t disappoint. Getting to see the early pieces of Andrea’s life made the entire universe of Ask For Andrea feel even more haunting, heartbreaking, and real. If you loved Ask For Andrea, this book is a must. It has that same eerie atmosphere, emotional depth, and “read this in one sitting” quality Noelle Ihli does so well. And if you’re a true crime addict like me, you’ll love knowing this story is rooted in real events, which means I’ll definitely be hunting down the documentary it’s based on! Trigger Warnings: Child abduction, missing child, maternal trauma and guilt, adoption-related grief, psychological distress, stalking and being watched, threats and intimidation, supernatural/psychic elements, emotional manipulation, panic and fear, danger to a child
