Very slow in the beginning and picks up in the middle. A lot of plot twists (if you like thriller but don’t read it alot). Gut wrenching but I always knew who wouldn’t survive. Definitely would recommend.
I didn’t expect to love this book as much as I did, but Five Survive completely took me by surprise. I’ve never been much of a thriller fan, and I typically don’t gravitate toward YA books because I often find them hard to connect with—but this one proved me wrong on both counts.
From the first few chapters, I was hooked. The suspense was intense, the pacing was sharp, and every chapter left me wanting more. I kept thinking I had it all figured out, but the twists kept coming, and the ending caught me off guard in the best way.
This book reminded me how fun it can be to get lost in a story that keeps you guessing. I genuinely looked forward to picking it up each time, and I found myself flying through the pages. If you're hesitant about thrillers or YA like I was, Five Survive might just change your mind.
This. Was. Amazing. If there's an example of a page-turning thriller, this one's up there with tension and twists in spades!
I was hooked on everything from the atmosphere and the growing uneasiness to the desperation of the characters as they struggle to figure out what to do and whom to side with—and against. The slow revelation of things coming to light was done superbly well too, kept me right on the edge of my seat even at the dinner table!
