We start with 2 young lovers in their high school years. They complete each other, but then when they go off to college, things got rocky and Ellie breaks it off with Dominic. Fast forward 10 years later, she's living in the same small town working for her family's vineyard and he moves back to join the sheriff's office after working in LA. He's still pining for her, hoping to win her back when a stalker/murder case pops up. When a stalker starts making himself known to Ellie, that's when things start to get serious.
This was a great book. The characters were well created and we got all the back story that helps us root for these characters. Does Dominic get a little much at times? Sure. Does Ellie wallow in so much self hatred and pity that you want to grab her and tell her that what happened to her was not her fault? Also yes. But having these characters surrounding an ongoing investigation is what really drives the plot and I'm all for a good mystery crime surrounding a romance.

Michelle knows how to write a great story. One that’s filled with so much tension, so much banter and spicy scenes that will have you glued to your phone. I really enjoyed reading double barrel. When I read the first book, i was immediately in love with Elyse. She was fierce and in this book she continues that.
Second Chance romances are always beautiful when done well and this one was. Dominic and Elyse are a match made in heaven. They really did love each other, and It showed. I found myself very obsessed with them as characters, and also I really loved seeing the tug of war that went on. Eventually they realize they can’t keep fighting their feelings.
The suspense of this whole story was EVERYTHING! I love a good murder mystery and stalker storyline. It was a mixture of everything. I felt like the story did well balancing the romance and the crime. The plot was plotting for sure. It was like watching a true crime show. I was eating it up!
The spice…..PHENOMENAL. I like a lot of spice personally, so I felt like it was nice to see it in the story. In book 1, we get a pretty decent amount, but not a lot. I enjoyed it here.
