Darkstalker was an AMAZING book. The characters were well-developed, and I loved seeing the backstory with Darkstalker. I really enjoyed Clearsight and Darkstalker, but Fathom wasn’t great in my opinion, except for the beginning and very end of the book. The most intense part was when Albatross found Indigo and Fathom hiding, and I liked the ending with him and Indigo, but I wish that Clearsight and Darkstalker could have ended up together. My favorite part was when Clearsight met Darkstalker, and I liked seeing all of the things that Darkstalker made with his scroll. Overall, this book was great.

Fans of the Wings of Fire series will definitely want to read this backstory of Darkstalker and all the other key players of his time. Having read snippets of information about Clearsight and Fathom throughout books 6-10, it was enjoyable to go deeper and learn more of their relationships with Darkstalker and how time led them down the path of betraying their soulmate/best friend in order to save Pyrrhia. I have been reading the Wings of Fire series with my daughter and she read this book independently and then wanted me to do so. I am glad I did.
