Bring Me Back: A Novel

THE NEW TWISTY, GRIPPING READ FROM B.A. PARIS, THE AUTHOR OF THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLING NOVELS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS AND THE BREAKDOWN

"We're in a new Golden Age of suspense writing now, because of amazing books like Bring Me Back, and I for one am loving it." --Lee Child

"[An] outstanding Hitchcockian thriller." --Publishers Weekly (starred review)

She went missing. He moved on. A whole world of secrets remained--until now.

Finn and Layla are young, in love, and on vacation. They're driving along the highway when Finn decides to stop at a service station to use the restroom. He hops out of the car, locks the doors behind him, and goes inside. When he returns Layla is gone--never to be seen again. That is the story Finn told to the police. But it is not the whole story.

Ten years later Finn is engaged to Layla's sister, Ellen. Their shared grief over what happened to Layla drew them close and now they intend to remain together. Still, there's something about Ellen that Finn has never fully understood. His heart wants to believe that she is the one for him...even though a sixth sense tells him not to trust her.

Then, not long before he and Ellen are to be married, Finn gets a phone call. Someone from his past has seen Layla--hiding in plain sight. There are other odd occurrences: Long-lost items from Layla's past that keep turning up around Finn and Ellen's house. Emails from strangers who seem to know too much. Secret messages, clues, warnings. If Layla is alive--and on Finn's trail--what does she want? And how much does she know?

A tour de force of psychological suspense, Bring Me Back will have you questioning everything and everyone until its stunning climax.

Paris' books suck me right in! I love the suspense and constantly questioning what happened in so many different ways. Behind Closed Doors I feel will always be my favorite because it was my first from her but this one is great! I never expected that kind of ending which is just the kind of book that I love. This book left me wanting a little more but in a good way. I really felt for Finn at the end. I highly recommend this book!

Finn's girlfriend goes missing from a parking lot, 12 years Finn moved on with his missing girlfriend's sister and when they were about to get married the missing girlfriend is back. The plot was interesting, I loved the builtup, but the ending could have been better.. I guessed the disguised character in the story and maybe that's why the ending didn't impress me much

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press and B.A. Paris for a free advanced copy for an honest review.

I finished this book over a week ago, and honestly I am having the hardest time putting my thoughts and feelings together, because I was definitely left unimpressed. The first part of the book kept me turning pages and I was truly enjoying the story and then it was like I hit a WTH? brick wall. There was zero character development and Finn was, well, a narcissistic dick! I am all about suspending reality, but there was a lot of eye rolling. I guessed early on the “twist” between Layla and her sister Ellen, but that might be because I just read a book with a similar scenario. And then the ending happened, I am still dumfounded over that!! So, while I may have not enjoyed this book, lovers of this genre might.

I definitely did enjoy this book, there was a lot of twists and turns that were fun and engaging to the overall outcome of the story. With all of that being said, I felt like there was times that the story felt unbelievable or way too dramatic and it took away from the story line.
