This should have either been titled "The Blythes of Ingleside" or had more Anne. I enjoyed the earlier books more. Also, it included information about the new cover illustration, but I always think of Anne as prettier than that.
I read this series when I was 9 and it was this book that made me fall in love with reading and with Anne with an E 😍. I have read these books over and over again at various points in my life, I am now 53, each time I have enjoyed them just as much as the first time I read them but each time I understood something more from the storyline and the characters.
I recommend that all young ladies should read these books. It encourages them to dream big which can only ever be good.
Worth reading through different life stages as your perspective and understanding of the world alters with growth. The language is gloriously evocative.
I loved this series! My favorite was the 5th book, "Anne's House of Dreams".
P.S. There is a 9th book to this series called "The Blythes Are Quoted" and L.M. Montgomery fans might also want to read "After Anne" by Logan Steiner. Both books can be scary for sensitive readers in some parts. If you want more recommendations, join my book club ;)!
