American Queen (New Camelot, 1)
From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Sierra Simone comes a steamy new polyamorous romance trilogy with a dash of politics and a pinch of magic.
Her name is Greer Galloway, and she serves at the pleasure of the president of the United States.
The sharp-eyed granddaughter of a former vice president, Greer is well-versed in politics and people--but not romance. Not when she is warned to keep her kisses to herself. Except her first kiss goes to the man who will one day lead the country, war hero Maxen Ashley "Ash" Colchester, and her second goes to his best friend and future vice president, Embry Moore. When the three collide in the Oval Office many years later, the unsaid words between them leave Greer breathless and burning.
It starts with a stolen kiss under an English sky, and it ends with a walk down the aisle. It starts when Ash asks Embry to find the girl they both lost, and it ends with Greer's heart split in two. It starts with buried secrets and dangerous desires...and ends with three people bound together with a ruthless, all-encompassing love sharper than any barbed wire.
This is the story of an American Queen.

Now lets talk about my favorite Embry, this man did not deserve what Maxen put him though and on top of that the relationship between the three of them was a bit toxic. This books love was always paired with one of the characters talking about how much it hurt, how the love was always followed with pain; there is also a point in the book were one of the three says their wouldnt be any pain if they all werent together and if they forgot about one another. With that the smut wasnt what I exspected the book was spicy but I was hoping for more scenes in which Maxen and Embry would be together which we only got in tiny pieces.
And with that lets talk about the one person I hated through out the whole book, Merlin. The way that this character was talked about made it seem that the book has some type of magic elements around it and really confused me as the book went on. Merlin’s character felt as if it were meant for a completely different book but was put in this one instead, which made me very confused throughout the book. With all that I want to let yall know that I did enjoy the book in the end, I don’t think I will read the second one but I might reread this one in the future.

“There was no point—you couldn’t argue with a storm cloud, you could only wait for it to blow past.”
“You’re a dangerous girl.” “Dangerous for whom?” “Me,”
“What they mean when they talk about meant to be. Why the fairy tales didn’t waste time explaining how the prince and the princess fell in love, because all along it was as natural and inevitable as breathing.”
