A Thousand Boy Kisses (Boy Kisses, 1)

"He kissed me until there was no part of me that didn't know who it belonged to. He kissed me until my heart again fused with his--two halves of one whole."

One kiss lasts a moment. But a thousand kisses can last a lifetime.

One boy. One girl. A bond that is forged in an instant and cherished for a decade. A bond that neither time nor distance can break. A bond that will last forever.

Or so they believe.

When seventeen-year-old Rune Kristiansen returns from his native Norway to the sleepy town of Blossom Grove, Georgia, where he befriended Poppy Litchfield as a child, he has just one thing on his mind. Why did the girl who was one half of his soul, who promised to wait faithfully for his return, cut him off without a word of explanation?

Rune's heart was broken two years ago when Poppy fell silent. But when he discovers the truth of her absence, he finds that the greatest heartache is yet to come.

This Bloom edition includes a special bonus epilogue.

A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole is one of the most emotional, heartbreaking, and beautifully written books I have ever read. If you love stories that make you feel—like truly feel every ounce of love, heartbreak, and hope—then this book is an absolute must-read. From the very first chapter, I knew this book was going to wreck me, and by the end, I was in tears. It’s the kind of story that stays with you forever. I would 100% rate this book a million stars if I could. The story follows Poppy and Rune, childhood best friends turned soulmates. When they were little, Poppy’s grandmother told her about filling a jar with a thousand boy kisses from the one boy who truly loves her. Rune promises to be that boy. They are inseparable—until life cruelly rips them apart. Rune is forced to return to his home country of Norway, leaving Poppy behind, and when he finally comes back two years later, she is not the same girl he left. She’s hiding something—something that will break both of them in ways they never expected. This book is pure, raw emotion. It’s about first love, soulmates, and the kind of love that never fades, even in the face of tragedy. I cried multiple times because it’s that powerful. It makes you appreciate love, life, and the small, beautiful moments we often take for granted. If you’re looking for a book that will make you feel everything—joy, heartbreak, love, and loss—this is the one. Just prepare yourself because it’s an emotional rollercoaster you’ll never forget.

4/5. This book has a phenomenal amount of detail and I was able to picture everything tillie was saying. I was able to picture the grove and I was able to feel with the characters and what they were feeling. This book would’ve been a 5, IF, the chapters were shorter. I felt like as I was reading the book, I wasn’t progressing. I would read 10 pages but would still be on the same chapter so I felt as though I made little to no progress. Other than that phenomenal. I cried, I cheered, I awed, I was mad, sad, happy.

Erm wow okay I knew it was going to be sad but Jesus Christ. Okay let me start by saying I’ve got a headache from reading this book and the amount of tears I’ve shed, can’t help but feel like I’ve been emotionally tortured for 2 days straight since I started the book. Anyway, the plot was okay, characters were okay, the conversations were super repetitive though, especially towards the end. Feel like I would have liked the book a lot more if they were adults that had known each other since 5 rather than teenagers. Some of the dialogue was cringe, you’re 17 years old bro not Socrates. The epilogue really threw me off as well like wtf? No explanation? It was kinda rushed at the end, that would have been way better if it was when he was like 85. I’ve never read anything so sad in my life and honestly, I’ll NEVER read this book again. Didn’t even like the plot that much.

I’m not ever sure how to rate this book… A thousand boy kisses…. More like a thousand ways to break your heart in to pieces. I’m so angry with the ending it was so not happy and it didn’t give me the peace i wanted.. It was truly a great story but it ripped my heart out and I low key never want anyone to ever read it. It’s only receiving a 7 because it was a very well written story
