I cried and cried and cried throughout this book lol. And I love that it was an easy read, heart wrenching but so beautiful. The ending though? what the heck was that lol. I really wished Tillie let Rune live, find love again and fill his own jar because otherwise her gifting it to him was pointless. Anyway, I am looking forward to reading her second book and hope the ending doesn’t disappoint me.
This book absolutely wrecked me — in the kind of way where you finish it and just sit there staring into the void because your heart isn’t in your body anymore.
I binged it in a single day, stayed up until 4am, and cried so hard I genuinely needed a moment to recover. It was beautifully written, emotional in the deepest way, and completely devastating. And honestly? It hit even harder because I was going through some personal things at the time that mirrored parts of the story. Reading it forced me to face emotions I’d been avoiding, and I think that’s part of why it broke me open the way it did.
If you want a book that will tear your heart to shreds and hand it back to you trembling… this is it.
Painful. Gorgeous. Memorable.
And yes, I’m mad at the author — but it’s still 5/5 because she did her job TOO well.
