I dont know why this book gets so much hate, I mean yes, I would have loved if we had more of Jacks pov, but still its a perfect ending to a perfect story.
such a magical book i'm going to miss evangeline and jacks (hopefully they make a cameo in spectacular !!!) honestly wish we would've gotten more jacks povs and lala in general (especially her dynamic with chaos?! helloooo). i'm hopeful we will get more of them in the future but for right now I'm so sad its over :(
Once upon a time, a girl who believed in fairy tales stole the heart of a prince who had sworn to never love."
When I heard that the Once Upon a Broken Heart series was in the same universe as the Caraval series, I couldn't wait to read it. I found Jacks intriguing in Caraval with his interactions with Tella, but I didn't want them to end up together. I wanted Jacks to find his own happily ever after and to get more of his story. And I LOVED this series from page one of the first book. I loved the characters and the imagery. Garber did such a great job with the world building as she introduced us to the Magnificent North and its amazing history. New characters were introduced and they were all amazingly dynamic. I loved getting to see more of the Fates and some of their backstories and get to know their individual personalities. Kutlass really made me think of Caesar Flickerman in The Hunger Games trilogy. I loved Evangeline and how she always looks for the best in others. Even when she makes the wrong choice, she usually has love at the base of her reasoning. Jacks is the perfect "morally grey" tragic anti-hero. The only thing I have a problem with is that the end of this book is the end of our time in the Caraval universe. Stephanie Garber, could we please get some side stories? I'd love to see Lala, Chaos, and the other fates find their happiness. And, I would truly love to see Aurora get what's coming to her.
