3rd Degree (A Women's Murder Club Thriller, 3)

In James Patterson's shockingly suspenseful #1 New York Times bestseller, one member of the Women's Murder Club is hiding a secret so dangerous that it could destroy them all.
One of James Patterson's best loved heroines is about to die. Detective Lindsay Boxer is jogging along a beautiful San Francisco street when a fiery explosion rips through the neighborhood. When Lindsay plunges inside to search for survivors, she finds three people dead. A lost infant and a mysterious message at the scene leaves Lindsay and the San Francisco Police Department completely baffled.
Then a prominent businessman is found murdered under bizarre circumstances, with another mysterious message left behind by the killer. Lindsay asks her friends Claire Washburn of the medical examiner's office, Assistant D.A. Jill Bernhardt, and Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas to help her figure out who is committing these murders-and why they are intent on killing someone every three days.
Even more terrifying, the killer has targeted one of the four friends who call themselves the Women's Murder Club.
Which one will it be?

I hate reviewing books like this in a series, because every book so far has been so different. That being said, I wasn’t crazy about this book. It just got way too political for my liking and way too cheesy. It was decent, but the first half of the book was definitely my favorite.

Here are some of my favorite comments from my buddy read: (some are spoilers, but I’ll tag them)

26%So far I like this book better than the second one, but it’s becoming a little too political heavy for my taste.
Oh hell no! If someone had me test out a bomb, juice or no juice? I’d be out of there faster than the roadrunner.

55%Ohhhh heyyyyy! LT Boxer got some bootyyy! You go girl!

76% “Stories by Eudora Welty, Jill always had great taste in books.” 🤢🤮 I respectively disagree. I read Delta Wedding by Eudora Welty during my Junior year of High School and I had to write a research paper on it. Worst. Book. Ever! I didn’t even finish the damn book, but at least I got an A on the paper. I now avoid Eudora Welty’s books like the plague. Lol

This one was a quick read, but the impact was devastating to say the least! Losing Jill was tough and made me cry 😭 , but the ending with Lindsay going to the airport really helps smooth everything out. Can’t wait to start Fourth of July.🇺🇸

Amazing from start to finish. A new standard in what’s already a near-perfect series!
