This book club was created to unite a community of readers on a journey of empowerment, wisdom & success. We understand it’s good to take a break so we have an entertainment mini club for a much needed distraction. We are a inclusive club so have frequent polls to decide which book we’re studying and frequency of our meetings. We hope you can join us! 

Hello fellow book lovers!!!📚❤️ We convene on the second Friday of every month. I made this a fiction/fantasy book club, because fantasy always been my favorite genre. However, I like just about anything (except horror/thriller, but I would do it for the sake of the book club) and any genre suggestions are welcome! I hope to meet y'all soon.😊  Happy reading!!!📖🫶🏻

We have one meet up per month (second Sunday at 2pm) to discuss the one or two books that we decided on for the month. Typically the meet ups will be at The Thirsty Growler in The Colony.We will always stick to thriller, mystery, psychological, fiction books. Brown Book Babes is a group of brown and black women who meet once a month in person. We enjoy reading romance, drama, auto biographies, and etc. We also want to connect, foster relationships, and most importantly have fun! 1. RSVP.  Let your club (and especially the meeting host) know if you’ll be able to make it to the meeting, and be sure to update your RSVP if your availability changes.   2. ARRIVE ON TIME. Don’t keep your club hanging!  This applies equally to in-person meetings and virtual discussions. 3. READ THE BOOK! If you haven’t finished the book we encourage you to attend the book club meeting anyway, however, be prepared to hear spoilers.  Life happens, and sometimes we don’t get to do as much reading as we’d like! 4. SPEAK UP. Contribute to the discussion!  Book clubs work best when everyone participates.    5. LISTEN TO OTHERS. Your fellow book club members want to hear your opinion — but they also want to hear everyone else’s.  Don’t interrupt or dominate the discussion.  This is particularly important if we held a virtual book club meeting.  6. BE HONEST.  Most of us join book club because we want a richer reading experience through discussion.  That can only happen when we share what we really thought or felt about a book.  It’s completely fine to dislike — or even hate — a book that someone  else loves.  Having different tastes in books is part of what makes book clubs fun.  7. BE RESPECTFUL.  You can disagree with someone, but always do so respectfully.  Ask questions.  Avoid personal attacks.  And keep an open mind.   8. HAVE FUN!  Why are we book clubbing if we’re not having fun?  Don’t worry so much about the book club rules and expectations that you’re not enjoying book club.

Our bookclub is based in the White Rock Hills Branch Library. We read a little of everything. It's currently organized by a staff member.
