Reno-Sparks Book Club

We read contemporary literature that's thoughtfully curated by the club's organizer. By contemporary, we mean books (mostly novels but also memoirs on rare occasion) published after 1950. Our authors aspire to provide a literary experience--a story that both captivates readers and leaves them with new perspectives on our shared human experience. Our books are also selected to include a diversity of voices in terms of gender and nationality (i.e. literature in translation). We meet at a Reno, Nevada area restaurant from 6:30 to 8:00 PM on the third Wednesday of each month from January through November. We discuss one complete book at each meeting, working from a full year reading plan published the prior November.
