Plus One Book Club

Our name contains two elements. "Plus One" means that we host a book club Plus One other component, a craft or workshop related to the book. "Plus One" also means that clubs are open to everyone. If you've never attended, consider yourself the host's "Plus One" to the event. We'll guide you through the format and keep the conversation flowing.

Plus One Book Club exists because we wanted books and crafts to collide, without the monthly commitment or obligation to attend every event.

We host meetings 3-4 times a year, where we discuss a book and do a creative project associated with the book. For example, Hua Hsu's memoir "Stay True" describes his friendship with his friend Ken, along with his artistic expression through the creation of zines. At the meeting associated with this book, we host a discussion and a zine workshop.

Most meetings require participants to provide some or all elements required for crafting.
