About MSU German Buchklub
Hallo! Herzlich Willkommen in unserem Buchklub!
This book club is hosted by MSU German students Catherine and Fiona.
It is open to anyone who wants to read German literature and engage with other German speakers in the community around Bozeman. Anyone is welcome to join, no matter if you are a student at MSU, a member of the Bozeman community, or live somewhere completely different!
We will be reading two works of German language literature each month. The first one will be a novel of moderate length (<200 pages) and easy - moderate language difficulty. The second one will be a shorter piece, such as a fairytale or short story. You can read one work or the other, or both! There will be a discussion board for each work.
Throughout the month, we will have discussions about the works here on Bookclubs.com. Catherine and Fiona will provide materials, such as vocabulary lists and historical background documents, to make understanding the works easier. At the end of each month, they will post a summary of the works and related discussions.
We will also be having optional meetings at the end of each month to discuss the works as well as have some fun community time. Check the announcement board for details on meeting times and locations.
Participation in the discussions and meetings is 100% optional! We want this book club to be a fun opportunity to engage with German literature outside the classroom and without the stress of grades and feedback.
Book Club will start officially in January with
"Das Fliegende Klassenzimmer" - Erich Kaestner
"Haensel und Gretel" - Brueder Grimm.
Until then, check out the MSU German Instagram ( @msu_german ) for daily language-learning content and come to our MSU German Club events!
If you have any questions, feel free to email us at fiona.burkart@gmail.com .
We hope you have fun in our book club and happy reading!
