Ghoul School Book Club

Ghoul School Book Club is a community of readers(located in the Fox River Valley/Chicago Burbs-Elgin, South Elgin, St.Charles, Geneva, Batavia) with a penchant for the macabre. We meet monthly in person at one of our local libraries(**on occasion we may meet virtually). My name is Gina S(@GhoulishGina on Goodreads, Storygraph, IG, etc. Let's be friends!), and I wanted to create this club to foster a community of fellow horror fans to connect. In this club we will be exploring various subgenres of horror from the classics to modern works.

I intend for this to be a safe and respectful realm. In order to maintain that atmosphere, I wanted to lay some ground rules.

✨The moderator(Gina/@GhoulishGina) is here to guide our discussions, keep us on track and organized, maintain a respectul community, and facilitate the club meetings and operations.

✨This is a club for adults only. We would like to be as accommodating as possible, however, we do kindly request that you leave your little ones at home. The themes we discuss and language used will likely not be appropriate for children's ears. Thanks for your understanding on this matter.

✨There is a NO TOLERANCE POLICY for hate speech, discrimination, or bullying. This will result in immediate dismissal from the club.

✨Verbal participation is not a requirement for club meetings. If you wish to simply read the book and come for the vibes, that is perfectly fine.

✨Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Differing opinions often make for the best discussions . To reiterate the points stated above, please be respectful

✨Book selections will be voted on monthly by the group in a poll here, on the Bookblubs app. The moderator will create a selection of books to choose from based on the groups interests. Suggestions on themes and titles from group members will always be taken into consideration!

(📌Please always check trigger warnings and know your own limits. This is a horror book club, and there are likely to be difficult subjects. Feel free to skip certain selections if it's not for you 🖤.)
