Behind Reality's Foundation

We will meet once a month. I do not have a date at this time. This is my first Book Club and I am working out some issues that I have right now so it might be a bit before I can get things fully settled.

We will be reading all types of books. I will not force anyone to read a book they are not interested in but I will encourage you to try. If you read 3 chapters and still not into it, You can stop reading it and either listen to us talk about it or wait until we start another book. I have also had moments when I am not interested in a book so I would never make you read it but you have to try.

I do want everyone to participate. Now if you cant get a book and have no way to read the book, that is okay, we can read a book you do have.

I do have some rules that I would like everyone to follow.

1. Be respectful to everyone.
2. While you may have options of your own, Don't get hateful if someone else doesn't agree.
3. Be honest
4. You might have a issue with either someone in the group or the books we read. Tell me. I won't judge or be mad.

Some things that I want us to do.

1. I will pick the first book then we will go until everyone has choose a book. If it is your turn to decide and you don't have a book that you want us to read, someone else can help you out whether they have already went or not. You dont have to take their help but if the book is interesting we will vote on it and then that will be the book. This will count as a group choice so if it was your turn then once that book is read you will go again.
2. After everyone has gone, we will do a group vote anyway. That way everyone gets heard and reads the book they want but also the group gets a book we all want. In my votes, Majority wins. I dont care if one person is not on board with the book, if more people want to read it then we will. You cant please everyone.
3. I want us to discuss the book. I some book groups that I have been in, reads the books then moves on without talking about it. they just let you go through it without any insight.

I want this to be a fun and creative idea. Like I said at the beginning, I am still working out so issues with starting this so if you join and nothing happens for a bit, I am dealing with some things on my end before we start that way things dont get hard while we are reading or discussing. I will fix them soon. I believe books are made for us to get away from reality so I dont want it to interrupt us.

I named this group Behind Reality's Foundation because books are the Foundation of what we know but also how we handle things. From authors making their lives into a story to history books. Books are the truth of what we as humans are.

We will read a bunch of different things. We can also each read something different and then come together and talk about each book if that is something the group is interested in.
