About Atlanta Peach Book Club

About PEACH Book Club
PEACH (Political Education and Community Health) Book Club is a serious political education community dedicated to developing ourselves, strengthening our communities, and building the knowledge and relationships needed to create lasting social change.

Why do we do what we do?
We believe that study and action belong together. Reading without practice becomes disconnected from reality, while action without study lacks direction. Our goal is to develop both our understanding of the world and our ability to organize within it. We’re here to build community, serve our neighbors, develop ourselves politically, and work toward changing the conditions around us. Community service and mutual aid are important, but we also believe in understanding and addressing the root causes of the problems our communities face.

When do we meet?
Every Sunday (once a week):
A)In person at rotating locations around Atlanta B) or virtually on Zoom

How long do meetings last?
Before every meeting we partake in group activity wether that be running, walking, hiking, working out, eating, or ect. which may take 20 minutes to and hour, from there we will began out group study which will last about 3 hours.

What do we read?
We follow a structured curriculum so everyone learns together step by step. Our studies focus on political theory, history, economics, organizing, and related topics.bAll curriculum and study materials are completely free and are either provided by the club or available online at no cost.

What else do we do?
Political education is only one part of what we do. Throughout the year we also organize:
Mutual aid projects
Community service
Park meetups, hikes, and picnics
Volunteer opportunities
Social gatherings
Discussions and workshops
Other community-building activities

Our goal is to build genuine relationships while putting our ideas into practice.
