Shadowed by Death takes the reader on a page-turning journey through wartime northern California. Oliver Wright, a homicide detective on medical leave from the Marines, tries to protect Sophia Nirenska, a resistance fighter who survived the Warsaw ghetto uprising only to be targeted by a killer. When Oliver discovers the dark secret driving the killer, he is forced to choose between enforcing the law as he knows it, or accepting a rougher kind of justice.
