We continue to learn more about the world Yarros has created in this installment. What part of the world-building did you find most interesting or exciting? What questions do you still hope will be answered in future books?

Which of the isles that the "quest squad" traveled to did you find most interesting?  Which would you most want to visit and why?

How did Violet and Xaden grow and develop in this novel?  What did you think of their ongoing romance? Do you still ship them after everything that's happened in this book?  What do you make of the surprise development in their relationship that was revelealed in the final chapter?

Who were your favorite side characters? Who would you have liked to have seen more or less of?

Let's talk about Andarna. How did you feel about all her teenage sass?  What did you think of her family and their motivations for originally leaving her egg on the continent?  What did you think of how they treated Andarna?  Do you think we'll see more of the Irids?  

What did you think about the revelation of Violet's second signet?  Would you want to be able to experience other people's dreams like she can?  What implications do you think her dream-walking signet will have in the future? In what ways might it become important? 

We had several other second signet revelations in Onyx Storm, including Garrick's ability to distance wield and Imogen's apparent rock wielding abilities.  Plus we learn that Aaric is a precog and can see the future.  How might these signets be useful in the ongoing war?  If you could have any signet, which would you want to have and why?   

In Onyx Storm, we discover the origin story of Violet's hair: her father tried to dedicate her to Dunne in the hopes that it might "fix" or protect her, even though child dedication was at the time illegal.  Do you understand Asher's motiviations?  How far would you go to protect your child?

Why do you think Andarna chose to return to Violet?  

Once again, Yarros ends her novel on a cliffhanger. What did you think of the ending of "Onyx Storm"? Who do you think Xaden's new "brother" is?  What other theories do you have for the next installment in the series?

The end of the novel gave us sneak peeks into points of view other than Violet's - specifically we hear directly from Imogen and Rhiannon for the first time. Would you like to hear more from other character's POVs in the final two books?

Yarros has indicated that the Empyrean series will encompass five books. Are you excited to get two more books or do you wish things would have wrapped up sooner?
