Zodiac Academy: The Awakening

I'm a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, I'm Fae.

But of course there's a catch - all I have to do to claim my birth right is prove that I'm the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically that's true as I'm the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didn't put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could.

The school they've sent me to is both dangerous as sh*t and one helluva party. Vampires bite weaker students in the corridors, the Werewolf pack has orgies in the Wailing Wood at every full moon and don't even get me started on the dark and twisted ways the Sirens use their powers on people's emotions, or how my sinfully tempting Cardinal Magic teacher hosts detentions that leave people needing therapy.

Classes are totally interesting if you manage to live through them. And that Gemini star sign I mentioned? It now determines my elemental magic and affects my destiny, so learning astrology is essential if I'm going to beat down my classmates - which is actively encouraged by the way.

My biggest problem is the drool worthy Dragon shifter who has his eyes on my throne. He and his three psycho friends are determined to make my time here hell.

All I've got to do is survive. But fate might have other ideas.

Dammit, why couldn't I have gotten a letter to Hogwarts?

Seemed poorly written at the start. Interesting story line but not a lot happens.

Listened to the abridged graphic audio. I was highly disappointed by the ending. Would consider rereading if it’s the original novel because certain characters were promising, but I felt jostled around often by the pacing. This might be an issue with the abridged version.

This was a wild ride! Zodiac Academy: The Awakening throws you straight into a magical world where twin sisters Tory and Darcy find out they’re not just ordinary girls—they’re heirs to a powerful magical kingdom. Sounds cool, right? Except the school they get thrown into is brutal, full of entitled magical elites who don’t want them there. The vibe is kind of a mix between Harry Potter, Mean Girls, and a touch of Hunger Games. There's drama, magic, romance, and some seriously unlikable (but weirdly addictive) characters. The four "hot jerks" who run the school are both frustrating and fascinating—definitely a love/hate situation. It's not a perfect book—some of the bullying goes pretty far, and the romance is slow burn—but it’s super entertaining and really hard to put down. Just be warned: it ends on a cliffhanger, so you might end up diving into the next book right away!

The plot had potential but between the child-like dialouge, undertones of SA, and all the cringe-worthy modern day references like Miley Cyrus and fae-version of Facebook.... I shouldn't have even finished the book. Not to mention the poor attempts at spicey romance between characters who act like 12-year olds... I'll just say this was my most difficult book to finish reading.

This was wild ride, and not always in a good way. I swear, almost every character in this book is an asshole. The Vega twins didn’t ask for any of this, they don’t even want the throne, yet the Heirs act like their entire existence is a personal insult. And for what?! Pure ego? Daddy issues? Who knows. All I know is—F**k the Heirs.
