I think this is the first book I have read by Natasha Preston and OMG it sets the tone. As each event happens the story sucks you in. I have to admit by chapter 17 I had my prediction and it turned out I was right. I finished the book in a day and canรขยยt wait to start another one. As I can tell the stories are stand alones but this book leaves with a cliffhanger and a possibility that there maybe a second book.
The story revolves around friends tangled in a web of secrets and mystery when a series of murders occur in their small town. As the tension rises and the body count increases, the main character, Lylah, becomes determined to uncover the truth and protect her friends.
The plot is well-crafted, with unexpected twists and turns that will leave readers guessing until the end. The characters are well-developed and relatable, each with their secrets and motivations.
Preston masterfully creates a sense of unease and suspense, vividly depicting the eerie small town where the story occurs. The pacing is excellent, keeping the reader engaged and eager to uncover the next puzzle piece.
I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a gripping mystery novel.
