You Deserve to Know

By Aggie Blum Thompson

A brand new suspense novel from "the master of the suburban scandal" (Samantha M. Bailey), Aggie Blum Thompson. Neighbors Gwen, Aimee, and Lisa share more than playdates and coffee mornings on their tranquil street in East Bethesda. They confide their deepest secrets, navigate the challenges of motherhood together, and provide a support system that seems unbreakable. But when Gwen’s husband is found murdered after one of their weekly Friday night dinners, the peaceful quiet of their cul-de-sac shatters. The seemingly idyllic world of the three close-knit mom friends becomes a web of deception, betrayal, and revenge. As the police investigate, the veneer of friendship begins to crack, revealing hidden tensions, clandestine affairs, and long-buried jealousies among the three women. With suspicions mounting and the neighborhood gripped by fear, Gwen, Aimee, and Lisa must confront the chilling truth about their husbands, and the sinister undercurrents in their own friendship.

This book is definitely binge-worthy! So many twists and turns, a few too many character names though. As far as domestic thrillers go, this one did not disappoint!

Gwen, Aimee, and Lisa appear inseparable, sharing playdates, and the unspoken bond of motherhood on their quiet cul-de-sac. Their carefully curated lives unravel when Gwen’s husband is found murdered after one of their weekly dinners. As the investigation intensifies, cracks form in their friendship, exposing hidden resentments, secret affairs, and long-simmering jealousy. Forced to confront unsettling truths, the women realize that loyalty annd trust are more fragile than they believed. This book felt like Desperate Housewives all over again! The drama, the murder, the fake pleasantries…everything about this book took me back to Wisteria Lane. I suppose that’s initially what drew me to this book and it didn’t disappoint. Even though some plot points were predictable, the suspense, twists, and messy interpersonal dynamics made the ride thoroughly entertaining and hard to put down. If you like drama and don’t mind a storyline where literally everyone sucks, this book is a solid pick 😜

I’ll start off by saying I wish I read this book instead of listening. I normally love a weave of storylines especially ones set among friends than ultimately appear to be strangers. However listening to this I had a hard time following who was who among the couples that lived in the cul-de-sac.

Outside of the method of reading I truly was shocked at the ending. Just when I thought the secret was revealed there were three more to unfold. If you love a book where you have shifty characters and trust becomes a thing you begin to question this book delivered. Not to mention who doesn’t love a good suburb drama? You never know what your neighbor is hiding.
