When I say this book had me entranced from the first sentence, it’s not a lie. The way the words weaves together and told the story of two people, lives together and separate, was perfect. I read it in one sitting and didn’t want to put it down, yet was surprised by the subtle ending. Run, don’t walk, to get this book. You won’t regret adding this to your list.

Two women of vastly different backgrounds. Sara running away from her small town and everything she’s ever know for a new life in L.A. Emilie is almost lost, constantly yearning for the beauty and community her Creole grandparents cultivated but unable to commit to anything.
And yet, they met and the connection is instant.
I love Nina LaCour! This book was beauty and sad and hopeful all at the same time. Dual perspective so we get to witness each of the characters growth and struggle.
