This was a random buy based of the cover art alone. It’s such a cute book and I loved hearing about nature.
This is an extraordinary book. A series of short essays reflecting on our natural world, memory, place, and identity. Each chapter focuses on a different plant or animal species. But each chapter is a personal story about the author’s relationship to that part of the natural world. I’ll be returning this book to the library, and purchasing a copy to keep.
The world is a wondrous place filled with natural and wild beauty and this collection is the perfect reminder to slow down, to truly see and to deeply listen to the wonder that surrounds.
A collection of personal essays, each one featuring a wonder of the world. The author’s love of science, nature, and poetry are felt on each page and the illustrations of each wonder are gorgeous. As someone who already spends every day stressing about climate change, I found this a difficult and sad read at times. I wish people who didn’t worry enough would read this.
