Thought that this book was a really great mix of thriller, story-seeking mystery and history. The combination of riveting,nitty-gritty journalism, fashion, art, and Nazi Germany kept the book so intriguing. It had a great plot with twists and scandals. Would definitely recommend!

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING
I was captivated the entire novel and always wanted to know what was coming next!! Jules is smart, brilliant and passionate about journalism, to the point she’d literally die for a story. I enjoyed watching her become a more confident reporter and researcher as she helped the family search for the painting that was taken during world war II. I enjoyed that it was easy to see where Adam and Jules’ romance started but it did not take away from the rest of the story or take over the story.
Margaux was super easy to hate right away and I got mad at her throughout the whole book, I think she deserved her ending for sure. However, what humanized her was also her connection to the painting even though it didn’t belong in her hands.
I definitely want to read Lisa Barr’s other works and I’ll be thinking about this book for a long time. And will probably research stolen/missing art from world war II now.
