I love Amo Jones and her writing ever since I read the Midnight Mayhem series and receiving this ARC literally made my entire week.
What is an Amo Jones book without any cameos from other book worlds right? I know that Wicked appeared in Sicko which I didn’t read but I was able to read through this without any questions so this can be read as a standalone.
When you go through heartbreak, you turn to blood and gore as a distraction and this book didn’t fail in the aspect. The violence scenes in this book gave a thrill and curiosity that makes you want to read further, that is also mainly why I could read this in one sitting.
I loved how Ruby had a backbone, she was independent and she is strong enough to be on the same level as Wicked. Wicked, true to his name was that in the way he showed his power and mind play. I liked how they both fit together, they didn’t exist together as a unit but they were two individual people who could fit together as a whole. Their dynamics didn’t feel like either was lacking and I liked that they were both equal.
The plot twist was not expected and I loved that. Not all books and authors can fulfil this. It was one crazy ride.
It is hard to write a review especially for such a good book without spoiling so all I can say is to read this book. I went into this book blindly and it did make the experience better for me, but do keep in mind of the triggers.
