This book was quite the undertaking for the author as she follows the story of five siblings in WW2. Based on true events we follow the Kurc family- a Jewish family from a small town in Poland. As they fight to survive we follow different family members from France to Brazil, from Soviet ruled Poland to Siberia to Palestine to Italy. Itâs truly a miracle how they survived. Highly recommend to fans of historical fiction.

If I could give this higher than a 5 star rating, I most certainly would. What an incredible story that will stay with me for years to come. A must read.
A story about hope, love, and above all, family. A heartbreaking, yet uplifting story, of desperation and perseverance despite the unimaginable horror that was WWII. The author brings her family to life in this retelling and i highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
