Under the Stars

**AN AMAZON TOP 10 BESTSELLER**

My new assistant is all smiles and sunshine-and she's about to set fire to my cold, grumpy heart.

I've moved to this god-forsaken small town to run the family business.

I need to hire a new PA and the pickings are slim.

Some say my irrational expectations are the reason I've gone through assistants quicker than most people refill their coffee.

Incompetence is my pet peeve.

If that makes me irrational, so be it.

Then Georgia Reynolds walks into my office.

Blonde hair.

Sapphire eyes.

And a smart mouth that irritates me as much as it turns me on.

On top of being a rockstar at her job, she is a ray of freaking sunshine on steroids.

I have no patience for it.

Nor for the way she flutters around the office like a modern-day Tinkerbell.

She has ridiculous taste in music.

Drives an unreasonable form of transportation.

And did I mention that I caught her dancing in my closet when I sent her on a simple errand?

My new assistant has somehow become my kryptonite.

But I am her boss, and I am not going to be a pathetic cliché.

It doesn't matter that my cold, jaded heart has started beating again.

In my world, a beating heart makes you weak.

And I do not tolerate weaknesses.

Maddox Lancaster (aka Bossman) is “ridiculously handsome and protective…Bossy as hell…unattainable, grumpy and gorgeous…He’s a broody bastard. But aren’t those the best kind?...The man smelled like strength and confidence and sexy man…he was a good foot taller than me with broad shoulders and a hard body, a face that should be splayed across a men’s fashion magazine, and he had a closet that most women would give a kidney for…And he was clearly brilliant, because he’d listened to me.” Georgia Reynolds (aka Tink) is a little bundle of a beautiful woman with sapphire eyes and a heart of gold like a little fairy, spreading joy wherever she goes. She has a knack for odd sports and for making everything better. Her résumé is floral to match her personality. When she applies for a job as personal assistant to publishing house president Maddox Lancaster he warns, “You’d be wearing several hats.” But she loves hats. She’s yet to find one that she can’t pull off. “Odd sports may be my specialty, but difficult men were a close second. Game on, Bossman.” “I was working at Lancaster Press as the personal assistant to the sexiest, most annoying man on the planet, and he was going to let me read these secret chapters. Hells to the yes…When I came to work here, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I’d just gotten out of a miserable relationship. I’d studied art and really loved being creative, but I’d felt all this pressure to have a job that could support me…And then I found you, and everything literally fell into place. I know what I want in both my personal life and my professional life, and that’s all because I fell in love with you, Bossman. You helped me figure out who I was.” But Georgia works for him. “She’s too sweet. Too good. Too tempting. Completely off-limits.” “It would be highly unprofessional to be [dating his] assistant.” Or will they find everything they need. Everything they want. Everything they’re looking for. Under the Stars. Laura Pavlov is “my unicorn. A definite one-click author for me…Her heroes were always a little bit alpha with a side of chivalry and a heavy splash of dirty talk…They put us through hell before they sweep us off our feet,” and Under the Stars is no exception! “I was a girl who believed in fairy tales wholeheartedly. But this one—this one was my favorite.”

Y'all. Grumpy/Sunshine is one of my favorite tropes when it's done well. THIS. IS. DONE. WELL.

Georgia Reynolds is a recent college grad with a crazy ex-boyfriend who has stolen her car. She recently moved in with her brother and future sister-in-law, and she needs a job. Lancaster Publishing recently moved their offices to Cottonwood Cove... and wouldn't ya know that it happens to be Georgia's hometown? Heading into the office for an interview, she instantly recognizes how drop dead gorgeous Bossman is.

Maddox Lancaster is all business and no fun. He doesn't do relationships and has been quite the playboy over the past several years. He's also gone through 3 administrative assistants since moving Lancaster Publishing out of the city and is looking to hire someone new. Enter Georgia Reynolds. She's a ball of feisty personality with a large side of sunshine, kind of like Tinkerbell... Maddox is instantly annoyed with her, but at the same time intrigued. He offers her the job - not knowing how hard he's going to fall for this girl.

I haven't read book 1 in the Cottonwood Cover series (yet), but I loved Georgia's family dynamic. They are all so sweet and loving; they take care of their own. I laughed out loud several times while reading - the nicknames killed me. I loved it so much!

The ending was so perfect... and that bonus epilogue!!! Where can I find my own Maddox Lancaster? A moment of appreciation for the MOUTH he has on him in the bedroom!
