This book is set in the future. Tally tries to keep her individuality instead of becoming “pretty” like the rest of the teenagers do at a certain age. This leads to an ugly truth about the society they live in and a fight for what’s right.

Quick to read. Has some pretty good ideas. Ugliness is a teenage problem. Not adult one. For teenagers is this

An interesting concept, but poor execution. The worldbuilding is strange and nonsensical. The number of stupid one-word names for things is beyond annoying, and all the future tech is either extremely boring, run-of-the-mill, or completely absurd. The core message of not needing to be perfect to be beautiful is okay, but it is very surface-level. The way the society is structured also brings up many worrying questions that go unanswered.
