Twisted

From New York Times bestselling author Laurie Halse Anderson
High school senior Tyler Miller used to be the kind of guy who faded into the background. But since he got busted for doing graffiti on the school, and spent the summer doing outdoor work to pay for it, he stands out like you wouldn't believe. His new physique attracts the attention of queen bee Bethany Milbury, who just so happens to be his father's boss's daughter, the sister of his biggest enemy, and Tyler's secret crush. And that sets off a string of events and changes that have Tyler questioning his place in school, in his family, and in the world.

I really liked this book, and especially Tyler. My only problem was that it was way too easy to get the dad to come around. But overall, great story--very easy to relate to.
Excellent young adult novel. The description does not do it justice. The female author does a superb job of writing from a male perspective (not that I would really know what it's like to be in a guy's head, but this is close to how I would imagine it). Some serious subjects are tackled and handled well, including one scene that I may have read without taking a breath. The writing was witty and fresh. I laughed out loud and cried too.
The first time I read this book… which was back in like maybe high school this book I thought was good. Now that I’ve read the book again it wasn’t as good as I remember it being. It was an alright book.
Very boring
This is a coming of age story that's good for older teens. There's suicide, sexual content, abuse and self loathing. It was incredible and I'll admit it: the last two chapters made me cry as I read. This is my first book by this author. I'm very curious to read Speak.
