Track of the Cat (Anna Pigeon)

Murder mystery in a National Park. Kind of a cool concept. Wasn't one of the best books but was solid and kept my attention. I liked the main character and liked the setting. I listened to this and enjoyed it

The plot was fine and interesting, but I kept getting pulled out of the story by word choice. Everything sounded just a little too formal and slightly British. Instead of “she hadn’t ever been there” it was “she’d not ever been there”. It seems like the smallest thing but for books meant to be set in Texas, it stuck out like a sore thumb. Maybe I’ll try one of the much later ones next.
