Tiny Pretty Things: A Gripping YA Ballet Thriller of Ambition, Rivalry, and Betrayal

Now a Netflix TV show! Black Swan meets Pretty Little Liars in this soapy, drama-packed novel featuring diverse characters who will do anything to be the prima at their elite ballet school.

From the New York Times-bestselling author of The Belles, Dhonielle Clayton, and the author of the acclaimed Symptoms of a Heartbreak, Sona Charaipotra.

Gigi, Bette, and June, three top students at an exclusive Manhattan ballet school, have seen their fair share of drama. Free-spirited new girl Gigi just wants to dance—but the very act might kill her. Privileged New Yorker Bette's desire to escape the shadow of her ballet-star sister brings out a dangerous edge in her. And perfectionist June needs to land a lead role this year or her controlling mother will put an end to her dancing dreams forever.

When every dancer is both friend and foe, the girls will sacrifice, manipulate, and backstab to be the best of the best.

Don’t miss the gossip, lies, and scandal that continues in Tiny Pretty Things’ gripping sequel, Shiny Broken Pieces!

So, someone, please tell me why I keep reading/listening to YA books when I rarely give them more than a three or 3.5 rating?
This book wasn't bad (that’s my go-to saying for YA books), but I just need more drama. It's not the genre's fault, it's a personal preference. I think I just expect that eventually, one will blow me away.

For this book, I listened to it on audio. In the beginning, I had to keep rewinding it to grasp the different POV’s. Eventually, it became easier to differentiate the characters and their storylines, but I couldn't stay interested. This book took almost a week for me to complete and that's very uncommon for me with an audiobook. I usually complete audiobooks in only a day or two, at most.

There were several hunches I had throughout the story that proved to be correct and I think I know what will happen in book two. Now, I just need to see if I want to attempt reading the sequel, or just watch the show. I'm thinking it will be the latter.

Yup. This book makes me super uncomfortable and reminds me why I don't read books about the dance world. It just doesn't sit right with me.
