Well, that was gross. And I could have done without the graphic description of a cat death. But overall, I kind of liked it…I think?

This reads more as a pitch or first draft for a short story. There isn’t enough meat on these bones.

The “book” was such a let down. Doesn’t deserve the hype. I can fully understand how a contemporary author could write a book that’s just excerpts from a chat forum, then emails then, chats from icq or msn messenger etc (it takes place in the past)…. But this story isn’t fully fleshed out.

The first few pages are well written, but it just fizzles out. IT IS SHORT under 200 pages (with so much unused spaces) because of format of printing emails. In reality probably something like 60 pages.

I don’t recommend this book for anyone, it’s not horror or thriller. It’s like a shitty episode of eerie Indiana, it’s not even twilight zone. Maybe he pitched it to Guillermo for Cabinet of Curiosities and got rejected.

My point simply is there was potential, there’s a very creepy concept there; however less isn’t more here in terms of writing. It wasn’t left to the imagination, it just felt unfinished.

BOO-URNS this book is not for any avid readers.
