This was just not my favorite book. While there were some parts I “mad enjoyed”, I overall just kept waiting for something less monotonous to occur. I chalk it up to having high expectations based on others’ reviews/recommendations.

Read it for Banned Book month. Definitely more suited to the YA crowd. However, it touched important issues for young people and led to a very interesting bookclub discussion. Should NOT be on a banned book list.
