These Still Black Waters (Jess Lambert Book 1)

After a traumatic home invasion, Neve returns with her daughter to her childhood summer home. Black Lake is supposed to be their fresh start. However, when a body appears in the lake behind their home, Neve begins to panic. Detective Jess Lambert is the head investigator of the case and can tell that Neve has secrets she has been keeping, so when a second body appears both are forced to confront their pasts.

I really enjoyed this book, and I really hope that this is just the start for Det. Jess Lambert. I found her character to be fascinating.

Definitely surprised by this one, it grabbed hold and I didn't want to put it down. The further I fell down the rabbit hole the more hooked I became. Loved it.

A good mystery with so many parts! I figured out Neve’s piece and I slowly knew who the killer was. I enjoyed this twisty thriller and couldn’t put it down. I loved the paranormal piece and how it was woven in! Book #70 in 2023
