The Writer: A totally unputdownable psychological thriller with edge-of-your-seat suspense

Her body was found close to the university. She was on her way home after a night out. Just like in the story I wrote...
Every Monday, I meet my writing group in a warm, lively bar to drink a glass of wine or two. It's the highlight of my week. But now something terrible is happening.
At first, it didn't seem like a big deal. My tires were slashed. A woman was hit by a car outside my apartment. Then, yesterday, someone was murdered. And all the details are copied from the stories we shared.
Am I going mad, or is someone in my group a killer?
I thought they were the only people I could trust, since what happened ten years ago. But now I'm terrified one of them knows the truth that lies buried in all my work-the secret I've tried so hard to hide. And they want to make me pay for it.
I have to know who's bringing my stories to life... but will the answer cost me everything?
A completely unputdownable psychological thriller that will have you glued to the pages! If you like Lisa Jewell, Ruth Ware and The Wife Between Us, then you'll love The Writer.

When things start happening around and to Becca that is the same as what was written by authors at Mystery Maidens, she is convinced one of them is behind it.
She thinks she is being targeted because of the death of her friend ten years ago as black hearts are left where ever something happens.
It is up to Becca to find out who it is and why they are doing it.
The book starts at a slow pace, I think this is needed so we get to “know” Becca and her circumstances. It was full of suspense too.
I love Miranda Smith’s writing; it eases you in and then BAM you are like what just happened?
The person I thought was behind everything was not the culprit. I am so bad at guessing who the culprit is, and always end up shocked.
This was a great book, It would make a great book club read.
The Writer had me completely captivated—it was just a fabulous bookish rollercoaster with so many brilliant twists! I was caught off guard by the revelation of the unanticipated murderer, and I was left hungry for more. Miranda Smith is a new author for me, but she is an incredible storyteller, and I am looking forward to reading her other books.
