*The limited deluxe edition includes gorgeous designed edges, spot gloss, and printed interior cover*

From BookTok sensation Lauren Palphreyman comes the first in the Wolf King series, an adult fantasy romance for fans of romantasy, werewolves, forbidden romance, and enemies to lovers.

When a princess is kidnapped by an alpha, war rages between the humans and the wolves. But soon, forbidden attraction starts to grow...

Princess Aurora longs to escape the castle and the marriage that has been arranged for her.

But on the night before her wedding, at a dog fight where captured werewolves are made to fight for sport, she spares the life of a young wolf. It puts her on the radar of the powerful alpha who was going to kill him. And it changes everything.

That night, when the alpha escapes, he kidnaps her and takes her to the rugged lands north of the border -- where the once warring werewolf clans are beginning to unite. He thinks that she is the key to winning the war against the humans.

Only, as they spend time around one another, forbidden attraction starts to grow. And as Aurora learns that not all wolves are bad, the alpha discovers that she is in danger from both his enemies, and those he once considered friends.

With monsters on both sides, a bloodthirsty war between humans and wolves raging, and undeniable passion growing between them -- will their story end in love? Or tragedy?

And will Aurora ever get home?

Does she even want to?

Delicious tropes:

Praise for The Wolf King:

"Had to read it twice, it was so good!" -- Amazon review

"If Outlander and a werewolf pack had a love child, this book would be it. If you want a book that's got just enough magic, a soft but strong heroine, alpha energy without the cringe, Scottish werewolves, kilts, vibes, emotional depth, fun narration and a plot that keeps moving, this is the one." -- Goodreads review

"Masterfully balances suspense, passion, and character development, all wrapped up in a captivating paranormal romance setting." -- Amazon review

"If you're into werewolf romances or fantasy and are looking for something fast paced & exciting, this is it." -- Goodreads review

*This* is the wolf shifter fantasy I needed. It was Outlander but with wolves. When I read Bitten last month I was sort of disappointed. It was too YA and I needed some redemption. The Wolf King was an elevated, mature shifter romantasy (despite the naĆÆvetĆ© of the FMC). I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I want to know more about the politics, and I really hope book 2 delves into all of that more. The romance was good, but it went from 0 to 60 in a few pages. There could’ve been a bit more development there. One of the twists at the end didn’t shock me, but I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s all going to play out. Highly recommend!

Outlander meets Werewolves. I LOVE the world building that is established within the storyline. It is natural and not plated to the reader. I hate when writers serve pages of explanation (butler and maid writing) for the reader, but the author does AMAZING webbing in information that really allows you to imagine the setting. Aurora, the FMC can seem a bit much due to a rebellious (princessy mentality) side but I love her development. Willingly going to the enemy land, she is sorta open minded when it comes to their customs but against what appears to be misogynistic ideals. But wearing a collar to display claim? Interesting. Having two males offer one? I BIT my knuckles and screamed like a school girl. Callum, Aurora’s rescuer perceives to have a hero complex. He’s the good guy that’s willing to help. He’s also caring, controlled and patient, a true alpha that IS in fact a natural leader, which compels Aurora more to him. She finds that side of him attractive, especially since her own father (the king) was anything but. And then there’s Blake, another alpha who originates from Aurora’s kingdom (which is highly unusual). He is daunting, mysterious, reserved and also a healer. As much as I like Callum, I find myself infatuated with Blake. He’s hiding something and I want to know more and I feel as though Aurora finds herself in the same position. Loved the book! Loved the spice (it had just the right amount without taking away from the story line). HIGHLY RECOMMEND ESPECIALLY FOR THE AUDIOBOOK!!

I loved Aurora, Callum, and the supporting cast. I was fully intrigued by Blake in this book. With the blurbs in the promotions I had a sense that Callum was a red herring. There were underlying tones of this great connection that try as they might did not fit. The love was tender and heartbreaking. Callum is a noble hearted wolf, and Aurora longs to be free after years of entrapment at the hands of powerful men. I loved how well the characters were fleshed out. It helped do the heavy lifting in the world building. At the end when there if the exchange of life force between Blake and Aurora I knew then without a shadow of a doubt why it was compared to ACOTAR. I find these advertising blurbs to do a huge disservice to the reader and the author. It's a spoiler for the whole story and it does take away from the reading experience. All in all, I could not fault the book for the way it was advertised as business is business.
